
Dick Rathmann (January 6, 1926 - February 1, 2000): Born James Merwin Rathmann in Los Angeles, California, he swapped names with his younger brother to allow both to pursue racing careers. Rathmann was a prominent figure in both NASCAR and IndyCar racing during the 1950s and early 1960s. In NASCAR, he secured 13 Grand National Series wins and finished third in the 1953 season standings. Transitioning to IndyCar, he earned three pole positions and three podium finishes in the USAC Championship Car series.
