
Emil Andres (July 22, 1911 - July 20, 1999): An American racing driver from Chicago, Illinois, Emil Andres was active during the 1930s and 1940s. He was part of the "Chicago Gang" of midget car racers, which included notable drivers like Tony Bettenhausen and Paul Russo. Andres competed in the AAA Championship Car series, securing one win and multiple podium finishes. He attempted to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 in 1950 but was unsuccessful.
Andres was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 1996 and the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 2013.
