Biography

Emmanuel Leo Ludwig "Toulo" de Graffenried (May 18, 1914 - January 22, 2007): A Swiss racing driver from Lausanne, de Graffenried competed in both pre- and post-World War II eras. He participated in 23 Formula One World Championship Grands Prix between 1950 and 1956, driving for teams like Maserati and Alfa Romeo, and scored a total of nine championship points. De Graffenried achieved notable success by winning the 1949 British Grand Prix, a non-championship event. After retiring from racing, he remained active in motorsport as a representative for the BP oil company and the FIA.
