
George Abecassis (March 21, 1913 - December 18, 1991): An English racing driver from Oatlands, Surrey, Abecassis co-founded the HWM Formula One team and was a prominent figure in British motorsport. He competed in various events, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Mille Miglia, and participated in two World Championship Formula One Grands Prix in 1951 and 1952. Abecassis was also a decorated Royal Air Force pilot during World War II, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service.
