Biography

Louis José Lucien Dolhem (26 April 1944 - 16 April 1988): French racing driver from Paris, the half-brother of fellow racer Didier Pironi. Dolhem participated in three Formula One World Championship Grands Prix between 1974 and 1975, driving for the small Surtees team. Though he never scored championship points in F1, Dolhem had more success in sports car racing and French national championships. His connection to Pironi, who would go on to become a Formula One race winner and championship contender, meant he was often overshadowed despite his own racing abilities.

Dolhem demonstrated talent in various racing categories including Formula 3 and sports car endurance racing. Tragically, he died in 1988 at age 43, just a few years before his half-brother Pironi's own death in a powerboat racing accident. The Dolhem-Pironi family experienced both the highs of motorsport success and the devastating lows of its inherent dangers.
