Team History

Alfa Romeo has a storied history in Formula One spanning multiple eras. The Italian manufacturer dominated the early years of F1, winning the first two World Championships in 1950-1951 with Giuseppe Farina and Juan Manuel Fangio driving. After withdrawing, Alfa Romeo returned as a full constructor from 1979-1985 with limited success. Most recently, Alfa Romeo was the title sponsor and partner of the Sauber team from 2019-2023.

Throughout F1 history, Alfa Romeo has also been a successful engine supplier. The legendary Italian brand's red and white colors and quadrifoglio (four-leaf clover) symbol remain iconic in motorsport.
