Benetton Formula Ltd
1995
The Benetton Formula team was formed when the Benetton clothing company purchased the Toleman team in 1986. Under technical director Ross Brawn and with Ford (later Renault) engines, Benetton became increasingly competitive. The team's breakthrough came with Michael Schumacher, who won back-to-back championships in 1994-1995, Benetton's only constructor titles. The team featured distinctive, colorful liveries reflecting their fashion brand roots.
After Schumacher's departure, Benetton remained competitive with drivers like Jean Alesi, Gerhard Berger, and Giancarlo Fisichella but couldn't replicate their championship success. Renault purchased the team in 2002.
