Panasonic Toyota Racing
Toyota Racing entered Formula One in 2002 as a full works team backed by the world's largest automotive manufacturer. Despite enormous financial investment - reportedly the largest budget in F1 - Toyota never won a race in their eight seasons of competition. Their best results were two second-place finishes. The team consistently finished in the midfield despite having resources that should have put them at the front.
The 2008-2009 global financial crisis led Toyota to withdraw from F1 at the end of 2009. Toyota's F1 effort became a cautionary tale about how success in F1 requires more than just financial resources - it needs the right people, culture, and experience.
