Team History

Founded by Sir Frank Williams and Patrick Head in 1977, Williams Racing became one of the most successful teams in Formula One history during the 1980s and 1990s. The team won nine Constructors' Championships and seven Drivers' Championships with legendary drivers including Nelson Piquet, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill, and Jacques Villeneuve. Known for their technical innovation and aerodynamic excellence, Williams struggled in the 2010s and early 2020s after losing their competitive edge. The team was sold to Dorilton Capital in 2020, marking the end of the Williams family's ownership.

Williams remains committed to returning to their former glory.
