
David Piper (born December 2, 1930): An English former racing driver, Piper is best known for his success in sports car racing during the 1950s and 1960s. He competed in events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and had a close association with Ferrari. Piper’s career was curtailed by a serious accident during the filming of the movie “Le Mans” in 1970, which resulted in the loss of part of his leg. Despite this, he continued to be involved in motorsport, organizing historic racing events and maintaining a collection of classic racing cars.
