Emanuele Naspetti (24 February 1968 - Present): Italian racing driver from Ancona who found greater success in touring cars than Formula 1. He began racing at age 12, spending seven years in karting (1980-1986) with over 200 races and Italian and international success. In 1987 he joined Forti Corse for Italian Formula 3, winning the 1988 championship in only his second year of car racing. In 1991, with a Heini Mader-tended Cosworth engine in his Forti Corse Reynard, he strung together four consecutive F3000 victories at Enna, Hockenheim, Brands Hatch, and Spa while leading the championship.
He participated in 6 Formula 1 grands prix, debuting on 30 August 1992 with March-Ilmor, abandoning the F3000 championship while leading to pursue F1. His best finish was 11th at the 1992 Portuguese Grand Prix. In 1993 he served as Jordan's official test driver, making one appearance in Portugal as a reward. From 1994, Naspetti focused on touring cars, becoming the symbol of BMW's sporting heritage with 27 wins and winning the 1997 Italian Superturismo Championship, establishing himself as one of Italy's most successful touring car drivers.
