François Mazet (24 February 1943 - Present): French racing driver from Paris who participated in one Formula One World Championship Grand Prix, the 1971 French Grand Prix at the Circuit Paul Ricard. He drove a March-Ford for the small Motul team but failed to qualify for the race. Mazet was more successful in French Formula 3 and Formula 2 championships during the late 1960s and early 1970s, where he achieved several podium finishes and demonstrated his potential. His single Formula One entry represented an attempt to step up to the highest level of motorsport, though like many talented drivers of his era, he found the combination of limited funding and fierce competition made it difficult for privateers to succeed.
After his brief F1 venture, Mazet continued competing in French national racing series and sports car events, maintaining his passion for motorsport while pursuing business interests outside racing.
