François Mazet (24 February 1943 - Present): French racing driver from Paris who participated in one Formula One World Championship Grand Prix. Mazet won the French Formula Three Championship in 1969 with a Tecno before moving to Formula Two with Sports Motor alongside Tim Schenken for 1970. He made his sole F1 appearance at the 1971 French Grand Prix, finishing 13th and scoring no championship points. After quitting racing in 1972 following the oil crisis, a serious crash in a road race, and the death of his friend Jo Siffert in 1971, Mazet worked in motorsport sponsorship, notably helping bring Essex and Lotus together in the late 1970s.
He later worked as an insurance broker before becoming a lemon farmer on the French Riviera on property he purchased in 1965.
