
Heinz Schiller (25 January 1930 - 26 March 2007): Swiss racing driver from Frauenfeld who was a speedboat champion in his native Switzerland before turning to sports car racing in the mid-1950s, driving a 1.5-liter Porsche and taking second place in his class at the 1957 Mille Miglia. He then switched to single-seater cars, starting in hillclimbing before moving to circuit racing. He made his way into Formula One driving a Porsche 718 for Ecurie Nationale Suisse at two non-championship races in 1962.
He participated in one Formula One World Championship Grand Prix on 5 August 1962, switching to a Lotus 24 for the German Grand Prix which ended with oil pressure problems and scoring no championship points. He made one more single-seater appearance driving the Porsche 718 at Pau in 1963, finishing third five laps behind Jim Clark and Trevor Taylor. In sports cars he finished 10th at the 1964 24 Hours of Le Mans with Gerhard Koch, taking third in class. After retiring, he ran a Porsche dealership in Geneva.
