Hideki Noda (7 March 1969 - Present): Japanese racing driver from Osaka whose daughter Juju also became a racing driver, competing in W Series. Noda participated in three Formula 1 grands prix, debuting at the 1994 European Grand Prix when he replaced Yannick Dalmas at Larrousse for the final three races of the season. He failed to finish any of the three races, retiring with gearbox failure at the European GP after qualifying 24th, electrical fault at the Japanese GP starting 23rd, and oil leak at the Australian GP despite out-qualifying teammate Jean-Denis Deletraz. He attempted to continue in F1 with Simtek in 1995, but the team withdrew before he could race, and he was denied a super license preventing him from joining Forti.
After F1, Noda moved to Indy Lights and CART, becoming the first Japanese driver to win a CART-sanctioned event at Portland in 1997. He drove in six IndyCar Series races in 2002 with a best finish of 10th at Phoenix. He represented Japan in A1 Grand Prix from 2005-2009 as the second driver behind Ryo Fukuda in the 2005-06 season.
