Hubertus Johannes Rothengatter (8 October 1954 - Present): Dutch racing driver from Bussum who competed in Formula One in 1984-1985. Participated in 30 races with Spirit, Osella, and Zakspeed without scoring championship points. His best F1 finish was seventh place at the 1985 British Grand Prix for Osella. Before F1, competed in Formula Ford and Formula Three. Made F1 debut at 1984 Canadian Grand Prix with Spirit Racing.
Drove for the struggling Osella team in 1985, occasionally showing flashes of speed in uncompetitive machinery. Moved to Zakspeed for the final two races of 1985 but failed to qualify at both events. After his F1 career ended, Rothengatter became a manager for Jos Verstappen (father of Max Verstappen) during Jos's F1 career, helping guide the elder Verstappen through various team negotiations and career decisions. In business, Rothengatter co-founded EVBox in 2010, a company specializing in electric vehicle charging stations and solutions, which grew to become one of Europe's leading EV charging infrastructure providers.
The company was sold to ENGIE in 2017 for a substantial sum. His post-racing business success far exceeded his racing achievements. Represents an example of former F1 drivers successfully transitioning to entrepreneurship and contributing to sustainable mobility solutions.
