
Scott Andrew Speed (24 January 1983 - Present): American racing driver from Manteca, California, who became the first American to race in Formula One since Michael Andretti in 1993. After winning Formula Renault 2.0 titles in both the German series and prestigious Eurocup in 2004, he attracted Red Bull's attention and was selected to drive for Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2006 alongside Vitantonio Liuzzi. Speed contested 28 races before being released mid-season in 2007 following tensions with team principal Franz Tost, and was replaced by Sebastian Vettel.
He graduated from East Union High School in 2001 after starting karting at age 10 in 1993. Following his F1 departure, Speed successfully transitioned to American motorsports, racing in NASCAR for Team Red Bull, Whitney Motorsports, and Leavine Family Racing, before dominating Global Rallycross with Andretti Autosport, winning the championship three consecutive times from 2015-2017 and the 2018 Americas Rallycross Championship.
