Brawn GP Formula One Team
2009
Brawn GP is one of the most remarkable stories in Formula One history. When Honda withdrew from F1 at the end of 2008, team principal Ross Brawn led a management buyout, creating Brawn GP. Operating on a shoestring budget with the car developed by Honda, Jenson Button dominated the early 2009 season, winning six of the first seven races. Button went on to win the Drivers' Championship and Brawn secured the Constructors' title in their only season of competition.
At the end of 2009, Mercedes purchased the team, which became Mercedes GP. Brawn GP's single-season fairytale championship remains one of F1's greatest underdog stories.
