Équipe Ligier
Ligier was a French Formula One team founded by former rugby player and racing driver Guy Ligier in 1976. The team achieved considerable success in the late 1970s and early 1980s, regularly challenging for victories and podiums. Jacques Laffite gave Ligier their first win at the 1977 Swedish Grand Prix. The team came close to winning championships with drivers like Laffite and Didier Pironi, but never quite achieved the title.
Ligier introduced innovative ground effects technology and distinctive French blue liveries. Financial difficulties led to various ownership changes before the team finally became Prost Grand Prix in 1997.
