Marussia F1 Team
Marussia F1 Team was founded in 2010 as Virgin Racing, one of three new teams entering F1 that year. The Russian sports car manufacturer Marussia became title sponsor in 2012, eventually taking full ownership. The team operated on a minimal budget and consistently finished at the back of the grid. Their breakthrough came at the 2014 Monaco Grand Prix when Jules Bianchi scored the team's first points with a ninth-place finish.
Tragically, Bianchi's accident at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix and subsequent passing cast a shadow over the team. Financial difficulties forced Marussia into administration at the end of 2014. The team briefly returned as Manor Racing in 2015.
