Biography

Consalvo Sanesi (March 28, 1911 - July 28, 1998): An Italian racing driver from Terranuova Bracciolini, Sanesi was best known as Alfa Romeo’s chief test driver following World War II. He competed in five Formula One World Championship Grands Prix between 1950 and 1951, driving for Alfa Romeo, and scored a total of three championship points. Sanesi also found success in sports car racing, continuing into the mid-1960s. He retired from frontline racing following a near-fatal accident during the 1964 12 Hours of Sebring, where his Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ caught fire after a crash.
