Biography

Daniel Ricciardo (born July 1, 1989) is an Australian racing driver best known for his time in Formula One, where he has competed since 2011. With 257 Grand Prix starts through 2024, Ricciardo has achieved 8 race victories, 32 podium finishes, 3 pole positions, and 17 fastest laps. His breakthrough came with Red Bull Racing (2014-2018), where he won seven races and regularly challenged for podiums with his aggressive overtaking style and infectious personality. Known for his trademark "shoey" victory celebration (drinking champagne from his racing boot), Ricciardo became one of F1's most popular drivers.

After stints at Renault (2019-2020) and McLaren (2021-2022), where he won the 2021 Italian Grand Prix at Monza, he struggled to recapture his Red Bull form. Following a reserve role at Red Bull in 2023, Ricciardo returned with AlphaTauri/RB in 2023-2024, but was replaced mid-2024. Despite his career's ups and downs, Ricciardo's talent, charisma, and passion for racing have made him one of the sport's most beloved figures. His late-braking overtakes and wheel-to-wheel battles remain highlights of modern F1.
