
David Philip Clapham (17 May 1931 - 22 October 2005) was a South African racing driver and motorsport journalist, originally from Rawmarsh, Yorkshire, England. He competed in various motorsport disciplines in South Africa, including Formula Vee, Formula Ford, and saloon car racing. Clapham played a pivotal role in introducing Formula Vee and Formula Ford to South Africa, significantly contributing to the development of local motorsport. He also assisted Jody Scheckter in advancing to European racing, facilitating his entry into international motorsport.
