Biography

Tarso Anibal Santanna Marques (19 January 1976 - Present): Brazilian racing driver from Curitiba. Won Formula Chevrolet title at age 16 in 1992, then competed in Formula Three Sudamericana and European F3000, becoming the youngest winner in both series. Made F1 debut with Minardi in 1996, participating in selected races across three separate seasons (1996, 1997, 2001) but never completing a full season. Participated in 24 Grands Prix total, all with Minardi, scoring no championship points.

Returned in 2001 alongside future double World Champion Fernando Alonso, bringing no sponsorship and employed with the understanding he could be replaced for a paying driver. Achieved two ninth-place finishes, Minardi's best results of 2001, before being replaced by Alex Yoong with three races remaining. Post-F1, founded Tarso Marques Concept, a business building and customizing motorcycles, cars, aircraft and boats. Later attempted NASCAR Cup Series debut, demonstrating continued passion for motorsport.
