British American Racing
British American Racing was formed in 1999 by British American Tobacco and Craig Pollock to replace Tyrrell. BAR made headlines with their innovative dual livery in 1999 and bold claim they would win in their first season - they failed to score a single point. The team gradually improved through the early 2000s, becoming genuine podium contenders. Jacques Villeneuve and later Jenson Button led the team to multiple victories.
BAR finished second in the 2004 Constructors' Championship, their best result. Honda purchased the team outright in 2006, rebranding it as Honda Racing F1. The BAR-Honda partnership was particularly successful in 2004-2005.
