Esteban Manuel Gutiérrez Gutiérrez (5 August 1991 - Present): Mexican racing driver from Monterrey, Nuevo León, who competed in Formula One from 2013 to 2016 with Sauber, Ferrari, and Haas. After winning the 2010 GP3 Series championship, Gutiérrez joined Sauber for 2013 alongside Nico Hülkenberg. Achieved his first and only championship points at the 2013 Japanese Grand Prix with seventh place, holding off Nico Rosberg's Mercedes in the closing stages—a performance that demonstrated his defensive racecraft and car control. Despite some promising performances, his second year in 2014 was hampered by an increasingly uncompetitive Sauber chassis, and he failed to score any points.
Lost his Sauber drive at the end of 2014. Signed with Ferrari as their test and reserve driver for 2015, replacing the late Jules Bianchi and contributing to the Scuderia's development program. Returned to racing in 2016 with the new American Haas F1 Team alongside Romain Grosjean. However, teammate Grosjean scored all of the team's 29 points that season, most coming in the first two races, while Gutiérrez experienced various misfortunes including mechanical failures and racing incidents.
On 11 November 2016, Gutiérrez confirmed via social media he would be leaving Haas. Participated in 59 Grands Prix, scoring 6 championship points with a best finish of seventh place. On 5 July 2018, joined Mercedes-AMG Petronas as a simulator driver, working on car development. Post-F1, became involved in business ventures in Mexico and remained connected to motorsport through simulator work and driving academies.
Known for bringing significant Mexican sponsorship to Formula One and representing his country on the global stage during a period when Mexican interest in F1 was growing, particularly with the return of the Mexican Grand Prix.
