Giorgio Bassi (20 January 1934 - Present): Italian racing driver from Milan who raced in the 1965 Italian Grand Prix for Scuderia Centro Sud. He participated in one Grand Prix, retiring early due to engine failure in the elderly BRM and scoring no points. His outing in that car was Bassi's only single-seater appearance at the top level, though he had a broader racing career. He started at the Mille Miglia in 1955 before becoming a long-time regular in Italian Formula 3, driving a de Tomaso-Ford with his best finish being third at the closing race of the 1964 season at Monza.
In sportscars, he took a class win in the 1965 Targa Florio, sharing a 1000cc ASA prototype with Pianta to finish 17th overall. Bassi is still alive and lives in Milan.
