Biography

Jerome d'Ambrosio (28 December 1985 - Present): Born in Etterbeek, Belgium and raised in Brussels, Jerome d'Ambrosio is a Belgian racing driver of Italian descent who has transitioned to a senior management role in Formula One. After winning Belgian Formula Renault in 2003 and the inaugural International Formula Master championship in 2007, d'Ambrosio achieved several podiums across three GP2 Series seasons, finishing runner-up to Kamui Kobayashi in the Asia Series and scoring his first GP2 win in the sprint race at Monaco in 2010. In January 2010, he was named Reserve Driver for the Renault F1 Team, making four practice appearances with Virgin Racing at Singapore, Japan, Korea, and Brazil. D'Ambrosio joined Virgin Racing as a full-time driver for 2011, replacing Lucas di Grassi and partnering Timo Glock, though he did not score points.

He was named official Reserve Driver for Lotus F1 for 2012, supporting Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean, and replaced Grosjean at the 2012 Italian Grand Prix after the Frenchman received a one-race ban, finishing 13th. D'Ambrosio competed in Formula E from 2014 to 2020 for Dragon Racing and Mahindra Racing, achieving three victories: the 2015 Berlin ePrix, 2016 Mexico City ePrix, and 2019 Marrakesh ePrix. At the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, he was announced as Mercedes' Driver Development Director. In May 2024, Scuderia Ferrari announced d'Ambrosio would join as Deputy Team Principal and Head of the Ferrari Driver Academy beginning October 1, 2024.
