Biography

Maximilian Alexander Chilton (21 April 1991 - Present): British racing driver from Reigate, Surrey, England, and younger brother of touring car driver Tom Chilton. Competed in Formula 1 for Marussia from 2013 to 2014, making 34 starts with no points scored. After finishing 4th in the 2012 GP2 Series with two wins (Hungary and Singapore), Chilton made his F1 debut partnering Jules Bianchi. In 2013, he became the first rookie in F1 history to finish every race in a season, extending his finishing streak to 25 consecutive classified finishes—a record for a driver at the start of their career—before tangling with Bianchi at the 2014 Canadian Grand Prix.

His best F1 results were 13th places at the 2014 Australian and Bahrain GPs. Post-F1, Chilton competed in IndyCar from 2016-2021, finishing 4th in the 2017 Indianapolis 500 after leading 50 laps. He also holds the hillclimb record at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, set in 2022.
