Biography

Nicolas Kiesa (3 March 1978 - Present): Danish racing driver of Italian descent from Copenhagen who competed in Formula One for Minardi in 2003 and worked as a test driver for Jordan Grand Prix in 2005. After finishing second in the 1996 World Karting Championship, he progressed to British Formula Ford in 1998, winning seven races and capturing the 1999 Formula Ford championship with Haywood Racing. He made his F1 debut at the 2003 German Grand Prix at Hockenheim, taking the seat vacated when Justin Wilson moved to Jaguar, and finished 12th. Kiesa completed all five races he contested in 2003 with a best result of 11th at the United States Grand Prix in Indianapolis, but scored no championship points.

He returned to Formula One in 2005, replacing Robert Doornbos as Jordan's third driver for the German Grand Prix and remainder of the season, working as a test driver and driving in first free practice sessions. His F1 career never progressed beyond these limited opportunities despite his promising junior formula results.
